Serving students of all abilities is a focus of the arts at Chautauqua, and two residencies are in their third year. These residencies are held at the Board of Cooperative Education Services sites at Chautauqua Lake School and the LoGuidice Center (Fredonia, NY).
Sing Me A Story, Play Me A Book
Led by Kennedy Center national teaching artist Deborah Sunya Moore, the program focuses on the integration of vocal and instrumental music and stories with an end goal of increased music and reading comprehension as well as the ability to work as a team through ensemble.
I Can Drum
Led by CSO percussionist and teaching artist Brian Kushmaul, the drumming residency builds self-confidence and collaboration through ensemble drumming for students with disabilities.
